Samantha Mohr
Mohr was a UGA student. She entered her first pageant, after having been advised by a fellow student. She won Miss Columbus 1985. Mohr was then eligible to be a part of the Miss Georgia pageant, which was held in June of 1985. Mohr won Saturday's contest, which took place on June 22nd, 1985. More than $3500 was awarded Mohr with a scholarship and other prizes. As Miss Georgia, her activities Georgia included appearances in public spots across Georgia. Mohr participated as Georgia in Miss America 1986 in Atlantic City (New Jersey) on September 15, 1985. Through computer-generated modeling, which successfully predicted that Susan Akin would be named Miss America, Mohr's odds were set at 22 to 1. Mohr did not make it to the top 10 finalist list to win the title of national champion. Mohr's reign in the role of Miss Georgia lasted until she succeeded her successor Marlesa Ball, as Miss Georgia 1986 on June 28th June, 1986.
